Overview
This year, 2026, marks the 120th anniversary of the start of the Azusa Street Revival that served as a catalyst for the modern Pentecostal movement. It was in Los Angeles, in April 1906 that a small group of Holiness believers experienced an outpouring of the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in other tongues that was very much like that which had occurred on the Day of Pentecost. God used a humble African American Holiness preacher, William J. Seymour to lead this great revival. The William J. Seymour Memorial Pentecostal Revival Service on February 20th, 2026, will honor his life, ministry and legacy and commemorate the 120th anniversary of his arrival in Los Angeles on February 22, 1906. It is important to note that this event will also occur during Black History Month. Reflecting the spirit of the Azusa Street Revival, where the “color line was washed away in the blood” this Pentecostal revival service will be a multiracial, multiethnic event. The keynote speaker will be Bishop Jerry W. Macklin, 1st Assistant Presiding Bishop of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. (COGIC) who is a gifted and anointed preacher. Other local African American Pentecostal leaders will also be recognized and honored during the service. We look forward to seeing you there!
