Bio

Grateful for God’s grace since deciding to follow Jesus in 1974. Called to mission and ministry in 1975. Joyfully married to Kathleen Self, mission servant and professional artist since 1980. We have three children and five grandchildren.

Credentialed in 1980, ordained in 1983. Served churches as an associate, lead, and interim pastor in Silicon Valley, Washington, D.C, Oregon, and across the nation from 1979-2011.

Celebrating 41 years of service in AG Higher Education, teaching and administrating at Continental Theological Seminary, Bethany University, the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Ascent College, George Fox University, Western Seminary, Northern California Bible College, William Jessup University, Trinity Bible College, Northpoint Bible College at Grand Rapids, and many other institutes.

Served Made to Flourish as a Director of City Networks, City Expansion, and Learning Communities from 2016-2021, expanding city networks from 8 to 24. Considered a faithful leader in the Faith and Work Movement since the early 2000s, with numerous tales, articles and leadership roles.

Co-developer of the revolutionary Discipleship Dynamics Assessment (TM) – www.discipleshipdynamics.com – a vision and resource for understanding growth in Christ and measurable progress.

Three books published: The Divine Dance, The Power of Faithful Focus, and Flourishing Churches and Communities. Two more in preparation.
