Sara Spong, PhD, LCMHCS, received her PhD in Counselor Education from Regent University and is an Assistant Professor at Evangel University. During her doctoral studies she received a dissertation grant from the Organization of Autism Research to research stress and resiliency factors for caregivers of children with Autism. Her doctoral studies and her research changed her approach to counseling and supervision to a wellness focused lens. Her research interests center around wellness for the client, counselor, and caregiver.
Dr. Spong is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina and a National Board Certified Counselor. She currently has a private practice called Twin City Life Counseling. Her counseling specialties include adolescents, women, caregivers and families with children with special needs.
