He also competed in track and cross country while at EU, and still holds the school record in the 5000m run. Nicholas earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Temple University in 2017 under the supervision of Frank Spano, and subsequently spent 2 years as a postdoctoral research associate at the Institute for Molecular Engineering at the University of Chicago under the direction of Jim Skinner. Nicholas began his appointment at Evangel in 2019 and currently teaches a variety of chemistry and physics courses in the Department of Natural and Applied Sciences. He also serves as Evangel’s faculty athletic representative.
Nicholas has contributed to several research projects on topics ranging from energy and charge transport in organic semiconductors, to the anomalous behavior of liquid water, to the mechanism of ion transport through cellular ion channels.
