I am excited to begin my new role as Evangel’s Intercultural Studies & Global Connections Director this fall. I have served with my husband Jason Williams as AGWM global workers in Northern Asia and Philippines for 20 years. My journey of faith is a true testament of God’s redemptive love. I grew up in Sao Paulo, Brazil until the age of thirteen attending Catholic schools but coming home to a Buddhist family. Even while I was lost, God was already preparing me to be His vessel in a global setting. In 1988, my family moved to Los Angeles, and I was invited to a small Pentecostal church in CA. I was the first person in my entire family to become a Christian. At the age of 16, I was filled with the Holy Spirit, and my passion for Christ and burden for the lost grew. When I was a sophomore at UCLA studying Biology, I heard God call me to full-time missions, and I surrendered my life to His Call. I received my Masters of Education at UCLA in 1999 and also my Masters of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in 2002 while serving as a youth pastor.
In August of 2002, I went to the mission field as a single woman sent by the Southern California District. While serving on the field, I met my husband Jason who was sent from the Alabama District; we taught at the same university reaching university students and served on the same team in Northern Asia. Now, we have been married for 16 years and have two amazing children Isaac (12) and Elizabeth (11). And I am currently pursuing my PhD in Intercultural Education at Biola University. We have spent the last twenty years reaching, teaching, equipping and training students and workers from all over world. We were 8 years in Northern Asia teaching and reaching students on the university campus, helping to start a BAM, and doing orphanage outreach. Then we spent the following 7 years in the Philippines teaching and training students and ministers from more than 25 nations at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary. In 2017, my husband Jason and I went to Southeastern University as MIRs and taught and mentored university students and student leaders leading trips for three years. I am passionate about raising up the next generation of student leaders and future global workers who will take the torch of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Please pray with me that the Lord would light a fire in the hearts of the students at Evangel University.
