EU Chorus and Chorale joint concert Thursday, Nov. 6

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Chorus and Chorale will perform together in concert on Thursday, Nov. 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the Robert H. Spence Chapel.

Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend.

The University Chorale is a 45-member select choir, which performs both on the Evangel University campus and in the community. The mission of the chorale is to prepare and present only the best of sacred classical choral literature.

The purpose of the non-auditioned University Chorus is to develop fine choral singing through the rehearsal and performance of masterworks of choral literature from all eras including contemporary formats.

Both the chorus and the chorale are under the direction of Tom Matrone, director of choral activities.

  • I Then Shall Live – Tune of Finlandia, Jean Sibelius

Chorus:

  • The Last Words of David – Randall Thompson

Chorus and Chorale Combined:

  • Be Thou My Vision – John Rutter
  • Total Praise – Richard Smallwood
