Department of Communication — 2015 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Department of Communication has announced its graduation awards for 2015.

The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, April 30, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.

The following awards were presented:

Outstanding Graduate in Journalism — Sean White from Center Moriches, NY

Outstanding Graduate in Broadcasting — Jennifer Walk from Lenexa, Kan.

Outstanding Graduate in Film — Jonathan May from Bigfork, Mont.

Outstanding Graduate in Digital Arts — Katelyn Hanze from Waukee, Iowa

Outstanding Graduate in Communication Studies — Emily Ellsworth from Raymore, Mo.

Outstanding Graduate in Communication Arts Education — Michaela Smith from Belton, Mo.

Outstanding Graduate in Advertising & Public Relations — Brandon Willis from Gilroy, Calif.

Carl G. Conner Journalism Award — Brandon Willis

A total of 514 degrees were conferred at the 57th annual Commencement Ceremony for Evangel University on Friday, May 1, 2015. This includes 403 bachelor’s degrees, 73 master’s degrees and 38 associate’s degrees, 33 of which are from EU’s James River Leadership Campus.

In addition, the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Evangel conferred 77 degrees during its ceremony on Saturday morning, May 2. Of those, 21 were Ph.Ds. and other doctoral degrees.

Evangel University (EU) sophomore Emily Connelly was awarded a $92,000 scholarship from Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) on Thursday evening, Nov. 12. A native of Liberty, Texas, Emily is a member of the EU women’s volleyball team.

Communication Department — 2020 EU graduation awards

The Department of Communication at Evangel University has announced its 2020 graduation awards. Due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of campus events, Evangel’s traditional Baccalaureate and Commencement ceremonies have been postponed until mid-August. The awards were given remotely by the department.
