Department of Music — 2015 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Department of Music has announced its graduation awards for 2015.

The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, April 30, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.

The following awards were presented:

Outstanding Graduate in Music Performance — Desiree Bonitz from Red Lion, Penn.

Outstanding Graduate in Music — Nathaniel McHaffie from Springfield, Mo.

Outstanding Graduate in Music Industry — Edward Mowery from Salunga, Penn.

Outstanding Graduates in Music Education —

  • Christina Beatie from Aurora, Mo.
  • Paige Campbell from Sullivan, Mo.

Outstanding Senior Musician — Desiree Bonitz

Hallett Outstanding Worship Leadership Awards —

  • Emily Franklin from Cooter, Mo.
  • Dominique Jack from Deer Park, N.Y.

A total of 514 degrees were conferred at the 57th annual Commencement Ceremony for Evangel University on Friday, May 1, 2015. This includes 403 bachelor’s degrees, 73 master’s degrees and 38 associate’s degrees, 33 of which are from EU’s James River Leadership Campus.

In addition, the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Evangel conferred 77 degrees during its ceremony on Saturday morning, May 2. Of those, 21 were Ph.Ds. and other doctoral degrees.

EU Films to premier student-produced movie “Witness”

EU Films, a media group within Evangel’s Communication Department, will present the student-produced action film “Witness” with multiple showings on Friday, April 30. The movie will premier at 6, 7:30, and 9 p.m. in academic building Zimmerman Hall Room 105 located on Evangel University’s campus.
