Dr. Carol Taylor to speak at Lee University commencement

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Dr. Carol Taylor, president of Evangel University, will address graduates and guests at Lee University’s spring commencement on Saturday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m.

Lee University is a private Christian university located in Cleveland, Tenn., in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. It was founded in 1918, and today, Lee is a comprehensive liberal arts university granting graduate degrees. Their enrollment is approximately 4,900 students.

Dr. Taylor began her service at Evangel University as president-elect and CEO in July 2013. She assumed the title of president on May 1, 2014.

Dr. Taylor is the first graduate of Evangel to serve as president of Evangel, having earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Evangel in 1973. She later earned a master’s degree in cross-cultural communication from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Evangel, and a Ph.D. in multilingual/multicultural education from Florida State University.

Prior to Evangel, she served as president of Vanguard University of Southern California from 2009 – 2013.

Evangel is a national, Christian university of arts, sciences and professions located in Springfield, Mo., and draws 2,400 students from all 50 states and abroad. Evangel offers more than 100 undergraduate academic programs and 10 master’s programs.

The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Evangel offers five additional master’s degrees and four doctoral degrees, including two Ph.D.s.
