SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Evangel University names Andy Forman as the institution’s first director of worship experience. Beginning on August 5, Forman will oversee worship teams and provide music direction for EU’s chapel services and special events on campus.
“I can’t wait to connect with students,” Forman said. “My goal is to shape a new generation of ministry leaders at Evangel who will influence and impact those they lead now and in the future.”
Forman is a worship pastor with over 20 years of experience leading in small and large churches in various contexts, including urban, suburban, rural, multi-site, and new church plants. He and his wife, Rachel, have served on church staffs in Dallas, Wichita, and central Florida.
He most recently served as the worship pastor at Access Church in Lakeland, Florida.
“Andy is called to invest in the lives of worship leaders to serve in the local church,” said Dr. Mike Rakes, Evangel University president. “I look forward to him bringing his heart and talent to minister to EU students and our community.”
Forman holds a Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership, and Bachelor of Science in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University. He will begin his Doctor of Ministry degree at the Assemblies of God Seminary, Evangel’s embedded seminary, this fall.
“I believe Andy has an anointing for worship and love for students that is key for this season at Evangel,” said Mark Entzminger, Evangel’s vice president for student development.
Forman and Rachel have been married for 19 years and have four children, Lydia, Sophia, Michaela, and Kyle. Their son, Kyle, passed away in 2015 at the age of nine.
Forman and his family will be relocating to Springfield as he joins the Evangel community and kicks off chapel services for the fall semester.
