Evangel’s Department of Social Sciences announces 2012 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Department of Social Sciences at Evangel University has announced its graduation awards for 2012.

 The awards were given during the baccalaureate

service on Thursday, May 3, in Evangel’s chapel auditorium.

 The following Social Sciences awards were presented:

 Outstanding Graduate in Government—Katie E. Nichols from Omaha, Ark.

 Outstanding Graduate in History—Briana M. Martin from Parker, Col.

 Outstanding Graduate in International Multicultural Studies—Sarah L. Menzies from Springfield, Mo.

 Outstanding Graduate in Legal Studies—Jaclyn R. Foehring from Fort Madison, Iowa

 Outstanding Graduate in Social Science—Emily A. Ramsden from Patchogue, N.Y.

 Outstanding Graduate in Social Studies Education—Andrew B. Pfeifer from Springfield, Mo.

 The Kendrick-Karmarkovic-Holsinger Award for Outstanding Achievement in Social Science—Stephen M. Houseknecht from Elmira, N.Y.

 The Jean Martin Award for Exemplary Service to the Social Science Department—Shawn S. Hardiman from Rosamond, Calif.

 Evangel’s 54th annual commencement ceremony was held on Friday, May 4, at James River Assembly of God in Ozark, Mo. Of those graduating, 87 received master’s degrees.
