SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel will welcome 20 guests to campus July 16-20 who will be participating in a 5-day, three-credit graduate course in Kagan Cooperative Learning. This week-long course will be held in Trask Hall.
Evangel University is one of only a handful of universities in the entire nation authorized to provide this training.
Dr. Debbie Yonke, associate professor of education at Evangel and part-time national trainer in cooperative learning for Kagan Professional Development, will teach the course.
“This course enables graduate students in education to become acquainted with the research and methods of Kagan Cooperative Learning and to develop skills which allow implementation of cooperative learning into any K-12 classroom setting,” Yonke said. “Students will gain an understanding of such methodology in light of research and impact on instruction.
The participants are practicing K-12 classroom teachers and administrators from around the region with the largest number of attendees from St. James, Mo.
