Evangel’s program in addiction studies provides you with specialized skills and relevant knowledge in the field of addictions in order to work effectively with people struggling with addiction. You will be equipped to fulfill roles such as a recovery coach, drug and alcohol counselor, or prevention specialist, and pursue careers in various settings, including treatment centers, non-profit organizations, correctional facilities, and medical practices.
Core coursework can be completed as a 15-credit Certificate, a 60 credit A.A.S. Degree in Addiction Studies, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Addiction Studies. These stackable programs provide flexibility to choose your path and continue your education at your own pace.
Depending on the requirements of your state and specific role, some addiction professionals may need to obtain additional licensure or certifications beyond Evangel’s program.

The Certificate in Addiction Studies consists of five strategic, stackable courses which cover the science and theory of addiction, research supported treatments, case management, and professional ethics.
