A total of six teams competed in the event, with two being from Evangel, two from Drury, one from Missouri State, and one from Ozarks Tech. The students had to present a case to promote innovative solutions before a panel of executives from CoxHealth, including the CEO, COO, and Vice President of Marketing. The case presentation was intended to better employee retention and patient satisfaction for the healthcare system.

Seven Evangel students made up the two teams, with four of them majoring in Evangel’s new healthcare management program. The program was launched in fall of 2025 and prepares students to take on non-clinical healthcare roles following graduation.

“The Healthcare Management degree has already demonstrated strong early success,” said Dr. Michelle Jacobs, professor in Evangel’s Business Department. “I am proud of our students’ hard work, dedication, and commitment to becoming leaders in the evolving healthcare industry.”

Evangel was the only school with Healthcare Management majors participating in the competition. Winners received cash prizes, with first place taking home $5000, and second bringing home $2500.

“We are very proud of our students who came together, built their case responses, and presented them in such a professional manner. They represented Evangel and the Department of Business extremely well!” said Dr. Jeremy Harris, the EU Business Department Chair.
