Professor presents seminar in New York
Bernie Dana, associate professor and chair of the Department of Business, presented a professional development seminar titled "Performance Excellence Through Positive Relationships" in Syracuse and Buffalo, New York.
Majors
Business majors earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree or an Associate of Arts Degree. Our comprehensive majors require 41 credit hours of business foundation courses and 31 to 35 credit hours of courses in the major. The Business Department offers six major areas of study:
- *Accounting prepares you for service in public or private accounting. You can complete the 150 credit hours required for the CPA certification by completing a double major in finance or management or by dual enrolling to complete a Master’s of Accountancy in five years at Missouri State University.
- Business Education prepares you to teach business skills and communication in middle and secondary schools. You can also earn certification through EU’s Master’s of Education program.
- *Finance prepares you for careers such as corporate finance, banking, insurance and risk management, brokerage services, investment analysis, real estate, and financial consulting.
- *Management prepares you to manage people and projects in career fields such as retail management, hospitality management, logistics, human resource management, health care administration, sports administration, production management, music business, event planning, non-profit administration, and church business administration.
- *Marketing prepares you for a career in advertising, sales, public relations, marketing research, or promotions management in a variety of industries or to start your own business.
- Public Administration is offered in collaboration with the Department of Social Sciences for students interested in careers in government and public organizations. Students can earn a BBA degree or a Bachelor of Science with the Public Administration major. The BBA provides excellent preparation for careers that require a high level of business such as a city manager.
* Missouri State University enables qualified Evangel students to dual enroll for up to 9 credit hours in a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), Master’s of Health Care Administration (MHA), or Master’s of Accountancy (MA).
Minors & Concentrations
Students with majors outside of business may benefit from completing a minor or concentration in busniess to gain a sound knowledge of business principles that apply to their becoming leaders and managers in their career field. Minors require 18 to 22 credit hours and are available in accounting, finance, human resource management, international business, management and marketing. A business concentration requires 35 to 36 credit hours and is available in accounting, management and marketing.
