Tell us about your career and what you do now.

I taught at Nixa High School for 11 years and have been in the education department at Evangel for the past 17 years.

What is your favorite memory as faculty?

Receiving approval from the Higher Learning Commission to begin a Doctorate of Education program at Evangel. The commission noted that the curricular design was a strength of the program.

How do you help your students identify/develop their calling?

Praying with and for students is the most important part. When a need is identified, a student must prayerfully consider if it is their calling.

How do you try to prepare them for life after graduation?

In graduate education at Evangel, we prepare students to become Christian leaders in schools.

What advice would you give a current student preparing for the workforce?

Prepare yourself to make a difference in someone else’s life now so when the time comes, you are ready.

What would you look for if you were in a position to hire new graduates?

A passion for helping students.
