Announcement: Evangel names new Director of Public Safety

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel University has named Springfield Police Lieutenant Todd Revell as its new director of public safety.

Revell has 25 years of law enforcement experience with the Springfield Police Department (SPD). He is a certified Generalist Instructor and Firearms Instructor with Missouri Police Officers Standards Training (POST), with 20+ certifications, and he has teaching experience in the Springfield Police Department Academy.

Revell earned his Master of Organizational Leadership from Evangel in 2013. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Drury.

“We are pleased to welcome Todd as our new director of public safety,” said Dr. Sheri Phillips, vice president for student development at Evangel. “He has served the Springfield Police Department with distinction in numerous leadership and management capacities, and we look forward to his service to our students, faculty and staff.”

Revell replaces Roger Moore, former SPD training commander who served as director of public safety at Evangel for the past two years.

Meanwhile, Moore is shifting to the EU faculty and will serve as director of Evangel’s Criminal Justice Program. He replaces Robert Cirtin, Greene County’s presiding commissioner, who directed the CJ program at Evangel for 24 years, prior to being elected to public office in 2015.
