Dr. Darin Poe

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Dr. Darin Poe (EU ’88, ’07) has been named director of the AG Ministry Leaders of Tomorrow Project at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS). In this role, Poe will oversee the large-scale partnership between AGTS and the Assemblies of God (AG) National Office to resource pastors for ministry.

“I am so thrilled to be back at my alma mater,” said Poe. “I believe the AG Ministry Leaders of Tomorrow Project will bring some great ministry students, ministers, and momentum to Evangel, AGTS, and the Assemblies of God.”

The AG Ministry Leaders of Tomorrow Project is funded by a $5 million grant from the Lilly Endowment. Through this grant funding, Evangel and the AG will build pathways to sustainable, robust pastoral education to support the rapid growth of young, diverse Pentecostal churches.

As director of the project, Poe will be responsible for the design, deployment, and management of the initiative. Partnering with the AG Ministerial Advancement (CALLED) office and the Church Multiplication Network, the program will offer new and innovative theological training to local church leaders and provide a pathway to a formal advanced ministerial degree.

Poe received a B.S. in History and a Master of Organizational Leadership from Evangel and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Southeastern University.

“Core to the AG Ministry Leaders of Tomorrow initiative is the idea that people of all backgrounds, with the right empowerment, training, and support can lead congregations in powerful service for Christ to the betterment of their communities.” said Dr. Mike Rakes, Evangel University president.

Poe and his wife, Heather, have been married for 33 years and have two adult children, Gavin and Megan, and two grandsons, Henry and Charlie.
