Dr. Wade Mumm

SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – Dr. Wade Mumm has been named vice president of Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) and Innovation. The hiring comes as a result of the AGTS Task Force recommendation to hire a vice president of the seminary who would be church-facing to equip and resource leaders for practical ministry. The task force was co-chaired by Evangel President Dr. Mike Rakes and Dr. Terry Yancey, superintendent of the Kansas district of the Assemblies of God (AG).

“As I transition into the role of vice president of AGTS and Innovation, I am humbled by the seminary’s tremendous history,” Mumm said. “I am eager to contribute to that rich history by helping, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to set the trajectory of the seminary as it seeks to innovatively serve missionaries, pastors, ministry leaders in the AG, and the broader Church of Jesus.”

Mumm, an AG missionary kid, Evangel alum, and former Captain in the US Army (Reserve), is ordained with the AG. He has served as the lead pastor of Greeneway Church in Orlando, FL for more than 20 years. His innovative leadership took a struggling church plant and turned it a multi-service, multi-location, bilingual church, impacting the central Florida area and the globe. Dr. Mumm’s first act as vice president will be exploring a fully Hispanic AGTS cohort on the campus of Greeneway Church.

Raised in Thailand as the son of missionary parents, Mumm has been instrumental in leading change in churches and educational organizations. His Ph.D. from Regent University included a dissertation on “Transformational Leadership: A Case Study of the Role of Communication by a College President in the Organizational Change of a Christian College.”

In addition to his extensive local church ministry experience, he has also worked in broadcasting and public affairs, and served as a faculty member and Communication Department chair at Southeastern University. While in the military, he served on multiple deployments including Operation Desert Shield and as a public affairs officer in the 53rd Infantry Brigade, Florida Army National Guard.

He previously served as board chair of two schools, committee chair for the National Religious Broadcasters Church Media Committee and as a member of the board of directors for the Alliance for the Future of Israel.

Mumm holds a Ph.D. in Communication from Regent University, an M.A. in Education from Arkansas Tech University, and a B.S. in Communication from Evangel University.

Mumm and his wife, Julie, have two daughters.
