Brandon Schmidly is a Professor of Philosophy at Evangel University, and Chair of the Department of Theology and Global Church Ministries. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Missouri, with specialization in ethics and social-political philosophy. He also has interests in epistemology and philosophy of religion. He has taught multiple courses in logic, ethics, and philosophy at both the graduate and undergraduate level, as well as courses in interdisciplinary studies. In 2013, Schmidly was the recipient of the Mills Young Faculty Award. He also served as Evangel’s Theology Department Chair in 2012-2013. He is co-editor of the book Christian Morality, An Interdisciplinary Framework for Thinking about Contemporary Moral Issues (Pickwick 2016) He was the organizer and host of the 2016 Midwest Conference for the Society of Christian Philosophers. Dr. Schmidly facilitates a regular grant from the Institute for Humane Studies for student-focused inquiry on religious freedom. Prior to teaching, Schmidly served in multiple pastoral and church leadership roles from 1998-2005. He currently resides in Nixa Missouri with his wife and three children.
