Gary Allen

Reverend Allen serves as Corporate Chaplain to the employees of the General Council of the Assemblies of God, Springfield, MO. He also serves as Chaplain for the Greene County Missouri Sheriff’s Office. From 2000-2010 he served as National Director of Pastor Care and the Executive Editor of the Enrichment Journal providing resources for personal, family and ministry development for 36,000 Assemblies of God ministers and their families. He also directed the counseling referral service and a free and confidential helpline.

Prior to serving in this role, Reverend Allen was Director of the Leadership Training Network for the Illinois District Council from January 1994 to October 2000. He served as pastor of First Assembly of God in Elgin, Illinois from 1974 to 1994, and Calvary Assembly of God in Carthage, Illinois from 1971 to 1974. From 1966 to 1971 he served as Associate Pastor in churches in Springfield, Missouri and Kansas City, Missouri.

He served as a Navy Chaplain in the United States Naval Reserve for 30 years, retiring with the rank of Navy Captain (06). He also served as Police Chaplain for the Elgin, Illinois Police Department for 16 years. Reverend Allen and his wife Arlene live in Nixa, Missouri. They have two sons, Martin of Champaign, Illinois, Richard of New York City, New York and three grandchildren.
