Jeffery Nelson

Jeff Nelson is a missionary to Kenya, Africa with Assemblies of God World Missions currently serving as Missionary-in-Residence at Assemblies of God Theological Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. Nelson has served as a pastor for 16 years and a mission since 2000. He has a passion for unreached people groups (UPG), church planting, mobilizing missionaries, and higher Christian education.
From 2008 to 2016 Nelson was the Vice Chancellor (president) of KAG EAST University, Nairobi, Kenya. He has led students to over 10 UPGs, planted more than 20 churches, and saw the school grow from 330 to 1764 students. Nelson earned his Ph.D. from Pan Africa Theological Seminary focusing on Intercultural Studies. A highlight of his life was being involved in seeing a tribe he worked with moved off the unreached people group list.
Nelson and his wife, Janelle, have four grown children and five grandchildren.
