Samuel Blevins to perform senior voice recital

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Samuel Blevins will perform his senior voice recital at 7:30 p.m., Monday, April 9, in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall at Evangel University.

There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

Blevins’ performance will include the following pieces:

  • Vainement, Ma Bien-Aimée by Edouard Lalo
  • Sin Tu Amor by Miguel Sandoval
  • Mandoline by Gabriel Fauré
  •  Après un Rêve by Gabriel Fauré
  • Nuit d’étoiles by Claude Debussy
  • By Mendip Side by Eric Coates
  • Go, Lovely Rose by Roger Quilter
  • Sigh No More, Ladies by Roger Quilter
  • When Daffodils Begin to Peer by Roger Quilter
  •  The Lord is My Shepherd by Henry Smart
  • O Divine Redeemer by Charles Gounod

The Lord is My Shepherd will be performed as a duet with Blevins’ fiancé, junior Allison Drewitz, and O Divine Redeemer will be performed with his brother, sophomore Benjamin Blevins.

Carol Wilson will provide piano accompaniment for the recital.

Blevins, secondary vocal music education major, is the son of Eric and Juanita Blevins of Pueblo West, Colo. After graduation, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in music education at Evangel and eventually pursue a career as a high school or collegiate choir director/theory instructor.
