SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel University is launching Evangel Day on Thursday, April 23, with a special end-of-year focus on integrating graduating seniors and continuing students with EU alumni, donors and friends.

“It’s like a half-year homecoming,” said Dr. Michael Kolstad, vice president for university advancement. “Our goal is to honor and celebrate our alumni who have given back to help current students enjoy the Evangel experience.”

Evangel Day will start with a special chapel at 10 a.m., featuring music by HeartSong, followed by a reception in Riggs Hall Administration Building.

Guests who can stay longer are invited to purchase their meals in Crusader Dining Hall and join the students for lunch. They are also encouraged to tour the campus and visit with favorite professors.

All events are open to the public.

“This is a great way to get Evangel’s past, present and future together,” said Kolstad. “Evangel Day will be a celebration of the shared belief in the mission of Evangel University, the power of an Evangel education and our passion to be a community that serves others.

“Our hearts are filled with gratitude for donors who make what we do here possible,” he continued. “That’s why we’re inviting them to campus. We hope this is the start of an exciting new tradition.”
