Program Overview

The Doctor of Applied Intercultural Studies (DAIS) prepares mission-minded leaders with advanced knowledge and practical tools for cross-cultural ministry. With flexible 48-credit hour modules, it offers two tracks—Missiological Studies or Christian Relief and Development—to equip students for global missions, teaching and leadership in diverse cultural contexts.

Note: This program is ineligible for federal financial aid and international student study.

Admissions Standards

Candidates for admission must be born-again and display evidence of a dedicated Christian life. Requirements include:

  • An MA in an appropriate theological or missiological discipline from an acceptable school with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Two or more years of appropriate intercultural ministry experience.
  • Submission and approval of a writing sample that demonstrates graduate-level research skills.
  • Second language proficiency. In exceptional cases, this requirement may be substituted by petition. When a request for language waiver is submitted, the Admissions Committee may require six credits of relevant studies in the applicant’s area of research. This will be implemented at the discretion of the Committee in a case-by-case situation based on transcripts and experience.
  • Official approval of administrative superiors (e.g., missions board or agency).
  • Adequate computer competencies and internet access.

Co-requisites

In cases in which candidates for admission are considered to have insufficient background in biblical, theological or missiological disciplines, the Seminary may require them to complete 15 credits of missiology foundation courses, 15 credits of theological foundation courses, or both as a co-requisite.

    Send Transcripts

    Please send transcripts from all colleges you attended. When possible, we prefer to receive transcripts electronically from services such as Parchment (Naviance), SCOIR, or through the National Clearinghouse.

    Transcripts can be emailed from your school to EU’s Online & Graduate Student Services at OGSSadmissions@evangel.edu. Connect with your admissions counselor when requesting grad course transfer credit.

    Complete Housing Agreement

    When planning to study in person and you would like to live on campus, complete your housing agreement.

    Send Official Transcripts

    Final official transcripts are required before beginning classes. All offers of admission are conditional until final official transcripts are received.

Application Deadlines

Meeting priority deadlines provides you the best opportunity to secure a seat in the program. Meeting the standard deadline will allow you ample time to complete all necessary pre-enrollment steps including course registration, financial aid, and flexible payment options. After the standard deadline, applicants are considered as space is available. When admitted, our team will work with you to help you complete all necessary steps to enroll.
