Department of Humanities — 2015 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Department of Humanities has announced its graduation awards for 2015.

The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, April 30, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.

The following awards were presented:

Outstanding Graduate in Art Graphic Design — Colin Turnbull from Springfield, Mo.

Outstanding Graduate in Studio Art — Zane Burgess from Eagle River, AK

Outstanding Graduates in English

  • Jeremiah Barker from Miami, Okla.
  • Rachel Hawkins from Rivesville, W.Va.
  • Ian Richardson from Afton, Iowa

Outstanding Graduates in Spanish Education

  • Kara LaFon from Springfield, Mo.
  • Rachel Nordquist from Springfield, Mo.

Outstanding Graduate in Spanish — Beth Barker from Sevierville, Tenn.

Outstanding Graduate in Theatre — Joshua Smith from Pueblo, Colo.

A total of 514 degrees were conferred at the 57th annual Commencement Ceremony for Evangel University on Friday, May 1, 2015. This includes 403 bachelor’s degrees, 73 master’s degrees and 38 associate’s degrees, 33 of which are from EU’s James River Leadership Campus.

In addition, the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Evangel conferred 77 degrees during its ceremony on Saturday morning, May 2. Of those, 21 were Ph.Ds. and other doctoral degrees.
