Division of Student Development

Dr. Greg Johns, Vice President for Student Development

Investing in and building relationships with young people is Greg’s sweet spot. He has worked with university-age young people for 40 years in various educational and missions settings in the United States and overseas, including 25 years living and teaching in South Africa. At Evangel, you will often see him having lunch with a student in the Joust or lingering at the end of a chapel service to talk and pray with students. Loving, encouraging, and influencing this generation is what motivates him every day.

Greg earned his bachelor’s degree from Central Bible College (CBC) and a master’s degree from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS). He earned a Doctor of Education degree in Higher Education from Nova University. Greg has served in various pastoral and leadership roles in the local church and in Christian higher education, including serving 25 years as a missionary to South Africa. While in South Africa, he served as President of Cape Theological Seminary (Cape Town) and later as Area Director of South Africa.
