Tuition Assistance

Military Tuition Assistance may be available to help the current service member pay for college and save their VA ‘Chapter’ benefits until after their separation. Military branches pay $250 per credit hour with an annual cap of $4,500. Service members will want to check with their branch education offices to express their interest in applying for tuition assistance and to confirm any eligibility and grade requirements specific to their branch.

To initiate Tuition Assistance (TA), a service member must go to their base education office and let them know they are interested in TA.  The education office will counsel the service member on the TA program and inform them on eligibility and grade requirements.
